The big ISSUU
For the past week I have been working on a project to create 4 magazine spreads using different column widths. Once finished I had to publish them on ISSUu
And let me say its a great site. Its completely free and you can make anything with turning pages. Give it a go ISSUU

Modern art
You can take it seriously
Or you can have a bit of a laugh at it
This week I went to the Barbara Hepworth (10 January 1903 – 20 May 1975) Gallery in Wakefield and not being a huge fan of modern art I did rather enjoy it. It was interesting to look at the work she produced as well as how she made them.
Although there were a few pieces I thought would look better in my garden..
And some others I just thought were ridiculous.
But all in all it was a good experience and I highly recommend it. Also has the bonus of a great adventure play ground.

CONTATO
During a research session for one project where we had to make our own paper toys I found this guy.
He has an interesting array of work both 2D and 3D. Some of them are commissions and some of them personal. But definitely worth a look if you like 3D models

The average teen bedroom
This is a piece of work I did based on Teen Rebellion. I took the angle of the average teenagers bedroom and how progressively messy it gets.

ShaunTan
Real interesting work. Great abstract paintings as well as interesting illustrations full of a mixture of stuff. It can all be seen on his website.
"All of my work as an illustrator is based either directly or indirectly upon direct observation from life. I spend as much time as I can producing singular paintings, often semi-abstracted, but almost always drawn from things I know well; familiar landscapes, objects and people."

the king of visual communication Peter Grundy
He has a unique way of presenting information, simply yet informative. His web sit Grundini holds a whole host of interesting visual work that I seriously recommend looking at.

Sam Green
Whilst looking at my book shelf i decided to look up one of the illustrators that designed some great covers for one of my favorite books. So I typed the name that was on the back of the book into google. Found his home page and wow. I was amazed at the variety of his work. He uses traditional materials to produce a unique style. Here a small video from his blog.http ://vimeo.com/29730791
And here's some of his work.

project: cd cases
My latest project is to design a CD case for the song This Tornado Loves you by Neko Case
And so i have occasionally been trawling thought the Internet to see if anything interesting popped up. And whilst I didn't find much there were a couple of interesting things.

This CD packaging whilst quite pink has a theme about is and I like the way it has two sections to case. |
This one is made from recycled cardboard and is quite compact |
I also had a quick look at album art and and i think this is one of my favourites for knights of cydonia by muse. I think it fits the song beautifully. |
